THE ALBUM
12 original new songs that mirror in words and music the rythm of life of this legendary artist. The first single is" Say no more " the second cut on the album and now a "priority" release for WEA.

THE STORY
During the negotiations with the major record companies Quincy JONES made his decision. He just had to sign his life long friend and fellow artist to his QWEST Records label and made the man an offer he couldn't refuse : "Whatever you want, you got it ! "

THE COMPOSERS
Jean-Pierre Grosz asked all the writers he knew to tailor make songs for "Brother Ray" with no compromise for the artists perfectionism, taste, maturity and unbelievable talent. The album includes contributions from :

THE TECHNICAL SIDE
For convenience Jean-Pierre Grosz and Steve Forward chose to work in the 48 track digital format for the production of this album. Ray Charles equiped his Los Angeles studio with the same machine so he could sing in the comfort of his own studio.
Full advantage was taken of State of the Art technology in order to keep a sense of continuity on an album that was recorded in 29 studios throughout the world.
The album was mixed and mastered in Los Angeles
