A propos

LINGERIE FRANÇAISE THE EXHIBITION

French Lingerie puts on a show in Paris at the Espace Pierre Cardin, from July 5th through the 26th, 2012, just before revealing its charms in London, Dubai and Shanghai. This exhibit will be a retrospective that covers more than 100 years of design, innovations, savoir-faire, luxury, and… seduction! It will also be the first time that the most famous French brands come together to unveil their treasures Espace Pierre Cardin, Paris July 5-26, 2012   PRESS PREVIEW: JULY 4, 2012

Diving into the collections of AUBADE, BARBARA, CHANTELLE, EMPREINTE, IMPLICITE, LEJABY, LOU, LISE CHARMEL, PASSIONATA, PRINCESSE TAM.TAM, and SIMONE PÉRÈLE made it possible to tell the story of this lingerie worn by millions of women around the world...

This show will celebrate the savoir-faire of French corsetieres, with their key inventions: the stretch-fabric corset, the first bras, the girdle, and even "smart lingerie" that embraces every curve of a woman's body  thanks to LYCRA® fibre which has revolutionized corsetry and lingerie fabrics since its birth more than 50 years ago.

Legendary corsets, girdles and bras, as well as bustiers, slips, panties, briefs, tangas, thongs – and don’t forget garter belts…,

will be presented in a epure décor and a space surrounded by audiovisual walls displaying the most memorable ad campaigns from each era.

These huge, humorous and often gorgeous images will bring lingerie back to life ”in the flesh”, whilst offering a unique testimonial of the evolution of societal values.

And finally, as a highlight of the exhibition, a transhistoric-holographic striptease will depict, in the space of a few minutes and on a life-like scale, the evolution of the feminine silhouette which French Lingerie has always sought to enhance.

”Promincor – Lingerie Française”, the Association for the Promotion of Corsetry Industries, brings together, French lingerie brands that share common values. by organizing events, press conferences and fashion shows Their aim is to enable member brands to express themselves with a single voice, not just in France but especially on the international scene.
